The St. Macrina Guild and its History

St.MacrinaIcon.JPG

Hello

'You loved the good God with all your heart, O Macrina.   You shouldered your cross and sincerely followed Him.  You found the total remission of your sins in Him.  Merciful God, you called your servant Macrina to reveal in her life and her teaching the wisdom of Your grace and truth: May we, following her example, seek after Your wisdom and live according to her way; through Jesus Christ our Savior, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen'

Our Story

The St. Macrina Guild is a backbone of our parish, and the largest organization of faithful women volunteers who help sponsor and coordinate many year-round events.  Their involvement is both a wealth of social and financial support, as well as a source of spiritual support.  Formed in the very early days of the church, the Ladies' Guild offers aid to college students in our parish in addition to local charities, and was named after St. Macrina The Elder.  The St. Macrina Guild members have cooked for festivals and fundraisers, sewn quilts, donated handmade items, as well as led many yearly baking traditions such as Pirohi, Nut Rolls, and Easter Pascha (Bread) projects.  New members are encouraged to join as upcoming events include their largest and most decorative fundraiser - The Ladies Tea.  A truly special day in which the ladies of the guild are honored and celebrated.
